Biography

Amjad Anvari-Moghaddam received the Ph.D. degree (Hon.) from the University of Tehran in 2015 in Power Systems Engineering. Currently, he is an R&D Project Manager and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University. His research interests include planning, design, control and operation of energy systems, mostly renewable and hybrid power systems with appropriate market mechanisms. Dr. Anvari-Moghaddam is the GE/Associate Editor of the IEEE ACCESS, IET RENEWABLE POWER GENERATION, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS special issue: “Next Generation Intelligent Maritime Grids”, the journal of APPLIED SCIENCES special issues: “Advances in Integrated Energy Systems Design, Control and Optimization” and “Sustainable Energy Systems Planning, Integration and Management”, the Journal of FUTURE GENERATION COMPUTER SYSTEMS special issue: “Smart Data for Internet of Things” and the Editorial Board Member for Energies(OA Journal), The Open Electrical & Electronic Engineering Journal and SCIREA Journal of Electrical Engineering. He is also a member of the Technical Committee (TC) of IEEE IES Renewable Energy Systems; TC Member of IES Resilience and Security for Industrial Applications-ReSia; TC member of IEEE Working Group P2004 (HIL Simulation-Based Testing of Electric Power Apparatus and Controls); and TC member of CIGRE Working Groups on Rural Electrification (TOR C6.38) and Distributed Energy Resources Aggregation Platforms for the Provision of Flexibility Services (TOR C6.35). Dr. Anvari-Moghaddam also serves as the Secretary of the IEEE Working Group on Smart Buildings, Loads and Customer Systems and the Member of Technical Program/Advisory Committee for several international conferences. Dr. Anvari-Moghaddam is also the recipient of the 2018 IEEE Outstanding Leadership Award (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) and the 2017 IEEE Outstanding Service Award (Exeter-UK).
