Biography

Dr. M.M. Ansari is currently working as Associate Professor/Senior Scientist and imparting teaching, research, extension & clinical activities at SKUAST of Kashmir, a premier Agricultural University of J&K, India. He completed his PhD in Vet. Surgery and Radiology with Vet. Pharmacology, Vet. Medicine as minor subjects from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, India is one of the premier national institutions in veterinary and animal sciences in the world. He has also qualified and received certificates of NET and ICAR-SRF (PGS) from ASRB, ICAR, New Delhi and NAARM, Hyderabad respectively. He has over 15 years of experience of teaching, research, extension education and administration. During this period he has served College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at India’s foremost Agricultural University GBPUAT, Pantnagar. He has extended his services as consultant to the zoological park; Pet clinic, Patna and World Bank funded Diversified Agricultural Support Project, Uttarakhand. Dr. Ansari has become the first scientist from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir to get Fellow by the Academy of Sciences for Animal Welfare, recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, in recognition of outstanding contribution for advancement of science and welfare. He has been honoured with number of prestigious national and international awards and recognitions for his contribution including Gold Medal from Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery, Award of Outstanding Participants, Award of Excellence, Award of Appreciation from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Outstanding Scientists of the Twenty First Century year (21st) 2008, by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, Best Volunteer National Service Scheme Award, from Birsa Agricultural University, Jharkhand, Academy of Sciences for Animal Welfare Associateship award, Reviewers Excellent Award, Editorial Excellent Award, International Journal of Veterinary Science, Nigeria, Zonal Secretary (North), Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery, Hisar, etc. to profession. He was Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator and Associated in a number of projects. He acted as external examiner for MVSc Thesis evaluation/ Annual Board examination of B.V.Sc. & A.H students in Agriculture/Veterinary Universities. He has guided 22 BVSc & AH, 5 MVSc and has been a member of Advisory committee for MVSc and PhD students in different disciplines. He has been actively associated with many scientific journals of repute as Editor-in-Chief/Technical Editor/Associate Editor/ Reviewer. He is a member of several committees at University & Government levels and Life Member of many Professional Societies. To his credit he has published more than 100 publications in various National/International journals of repute, authored and edited 4 books, edited 3 compendia,1 booklet, 9 chapters in books, presented more than 50 paper abstracts in annual symposia/conferences and has delivered many Radio and TV talks in addition to being a resource person in training programmes at such a young age is itself a proof of his caliber. He has also attended and delivered lectures in workshops, seminars, summer school, short courses and faculty trainings.
