Biography

Solomon Ali Gebeyehu after graduation, He has been employed in Debre Markos University in the Department of Plant Science by offering different courses for undergraduate class students. Since Sep 2010, I have been involved in teaching undergraduate class study evaluation OF ROOT YIELD PERFORMANCE OF NEWLY BRED ORANGE-FLESHED SWEETPOTATO GENOTYPES IN Ethiopians, Training, advising students in seminar and research activities, community service programs and other curricula and extracurricular activities in Debre Markos University. Later on, He has been granted MSc Program in Haramaya University and specializes in masters in Horticulture especially on root and tuber crop research. Moreover, I do have short-term training on Effective teaching skill, middle-level leadership skill, instructional material design, and development skill, Statistical software analysis (STATA, SPSS, Gen-stat, SPAD, R software, Basics of ELISA kithe ts and SAS) in Haramaya University and in Debre Markos University. The year January 2013 onwards, He has been serving in Debre Markos University in the Department of Plant Science with offering vegetable production and processing after graduation, He has been employed in Debre Markos University in the Department of Plant Science with offering different courses for undergraduate class students. The year January 2013 onwards, I have been serving in Debre Markos University in the Department of Plant Science with offering vegetable production and processing, fruit crop production and procession, post-harvest handling of horticultural crops, floriculture and landscaping, root and tuber crop production and processing, coffee, tea and spice production and processing, greenhouse production, and other horticultural courses. And from December 2015 up to January 2017, He has been joined university management as a leader and served as a head of the plant science department. From the year September 2010 onwards, He has ample experience in good leadership, teaching and research, and project development in the field of horticulture and plant science-related disciplines.
On research, basis is engaged on horticultural theme specifically root and tuber crop (Potato and sweet potato). On sweet potato I have been engaged in three research projects entitled:
Agronomic and Physicochemical Evaluation of Sweet Potato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.] Collections in Ethiopia in 2012/2013
Genotype by Environment Interaction Effect On Agro-Physiochemical and Sensory Attributes of Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato (Ipomoea Batata L.) Varieties in Amhara, Ethiopia. In 2017/18
Participatory Evaluation of Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato [Ipomoea Batatas (L.) Lam.] Varieties base on their Agro - Physicochemical and Sensory Attributes at East Gojjam Zone in 2016/17
Whereas in Potato research theme I have been involved in two research and one mega project on potato;
Participatory evaluation of Improved Potato (Solanum tubersosum L.) Varieties for Yield and Yield Attributes at East Gojjam Zone, Ethiopia in
2014/15
Participatory evaluation of Improved Potato (Solanum tubersosum L.) Varieties for seed production with the involvement of women at East Gojjam Zone, Ethiopia in 2014/15
One Mega Project
Strengthen of Participatory Potato Production, seed multiplication, post-harvest handling Techniques and preparation of potato food recipe in Sinan District (2016-2018)
