Dr. Beiraghi is Professor and Head of the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry and has been a Staff member of craniofacial programs for over 25 years at UNMC/BTNRH and UMN. She was the Director of the IADR/AADR Craniofacial Biology Section as well as a member of the Society of Craniofacial Genetics and ASHG. Her primary research focus is in the area of craniofacial anomalies; specifically, she is currently working on genotype-phenotype correlation and underlying molecular mechanisms. This includes congenital craniofacial syndromes and degenerative musculoskeletal defects, both of which may involve the oral cavity, face, and temporomandibular joint.
Research interests include: signaling pathway variations during skeletogenesis and growth, including abnormalities in the synthesis and metabolism of collagen and other connective tissue proteins.
