Biography

Dr. Vishnu Narayan Mishra is working as Associate Professor and Head of Department of Mathematics at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Lalpur, Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh, India. He received the Ph.D degree in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in 2007. His research interests are in the areas of pure and applied mathematics including Approximation Theory, Summability Theory, Variational inequality, Fixed Point Theory, Operator Theory, Fourier Approximation, Non-linear analysis, Special functions, q-series and q-polynomials, signal analysis and Image processing, Optimization etc. He has published research articles in reputed international journals of mathematical and engineering sciences. He is referee and editor of several international journals in the frame of pure and applied Mathematics & applied economics. Dr. Mishra has more than 200 research papers to his credit published in several journals of repute as well as guided many postgraduate and PhD students. He has delivered talks at several international conferences, Workshops, Refresher programmes, and STTPs etc. as a Resource person. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as PhD students. He is a member of many professional societies such as Indian Mathematical Society (IMS), International Academy of Physical Sciences (IAPS), Gujarat Mathematical Society, International Society for Research and Development (ISRD), Indian Academicians and Researchers Association (IARA), Society for Special Functions and their Applications (SSFA), Bharat Ganit Parishad etc. Citations of his research contributions can be found in many books and monographs, PhD thesis, and scientific journal articles, much too numerous to be recorded here.

Linear Positive Operators, Approximation theory, Functional Analytic aspects (methods) in Summability, Fourier Approximation, Quantum Calculus, Summability Calculus, Asymptotic expansions, Fixed point theory and applications in dynamic programming, Inequalities, Nonlinear analysis, Special Functions, Variational inequality, q-series & q-polynomials and Operator Theory, Fractals & Wavelets, Signal Analysis & Image processing.

1. First rank in District Sultanpur (U.P.) in Intermediate (1997) in Science group.
2. I was awarded “Acharya Narendra Dev Smriti Samman” from former District Magistrate of Faizabad (U.P.) Smt. Archana Agarwal on October 31, 2000 at Narendralaya Prekshagriha Faizabad (U.P.).
3. I was awarded “Mahavidyalaya Gold Medal” from former Chief Minister of U.P., Shri Rajnath Singh on January 29, 2001 at K.S. Saket P.G. College Ayodhya Faizabad (U.P.).
4. I was awarded “Special Certificate (Gold Medal in M.Sc.)” in 28th Convocation from Chief Minister of U.P. Shri Mulaayam Singh Yadav on December 2, 2003 at K.S. Saket P.G. College Ayodhya Faizabad (U.P.).
5. I was awarded “Kulaadhipati Gold Medal 2002” from former Governor Acharya Shri Vishnu Kant Shastri ji and former Agriculture Minister Shri Rajnath Singh on February 13, 2004 at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University Faizabad (U.P.).
6. I was awarded “Er. Vivek Mohan Memorial Young Scientist Award (Mathematics)” and a cash of Rs 1100/ from Prof. Rajendra G. Harshe, (Vice Chancellor of AllahabadUniversity) for presenting paper entitled “On the degree of Approximation of Signals (Functions) belonging to Generalized Weighted W(Lp , x (t)), (p ³1) -class by Product
