Electrical engineering surrounds us everywhere in the modern society. The five most important needs of today’s modern world are food, cloth, shelter, water and electricity. As electricity nowadays have become a basic need that is why electrical engineering has foremost importance because it gives the ability to harness electricity which has transformed our lives.

Electrical engineering is basically a professional engineering discipline which deals with use of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. It is a field with almost limitless career opportunities. This is mainly due to the number of sub-disciplines and areas of specializations this field offers which includes electronics, digital computers, computer engineering, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, radio-frequency engineering, signal processing, instrumentation, and microelectronics. Therefore, considering this we can say that electrical engineering is diverse, challenging and professionally rewarding.

Electrical engineering is far more than repairing faulty machines and appliances. It is the study of electrical systems, devices and circuits such as communication systems, automobiles, computers and almost everything that uses electricity or has a plug/motor.

Its importance is immense in todays world and it is going to become more and more significant in the future because with the advancements in technology and increased demand of energy it is sure that one day all the exhaustible energy resources will be finished. So people will require renewable sources of energy to survive and to harness these with higher efficiency study of electrical engineering and its research will be vital and consequently more and more electrical engineers will be required.

As I am also an electrical engineer I will conclude by saying electrical engineers are one of the most important ingredients of today’s modern society as we are lightning the world with more frequency and less resistance.
