Shih-Feng Chou, PhD

Dr. Shih-Feng Chou received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at National Chiao Tung University (Hsinchu City, Taiwan) in 2001. He was a graduate research and teaching assistant from 2003 to 2006 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (Carbondale IL.) when he received his Master of Science degree in 2005. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Materials Engineering at Auburn University (Auburn AL.) in 2011. He then worked as a research associate at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College (Hanover NH.) from 2012 to 2013. He later worked as a senior fellow in the Department of Bioengineering at University of Washington (Seattle WA.) from 2014 to 2016.

He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Tyler as an assistant professor in September 2016.
Dr. Chou has many years of research experience in structure-property relationship of biomaterials. He is interested in several advanced manufacturing techniques for the fabrication of functional biomaterials with outstanding mechanical properties using natural and/or synthetic polymers. Dr. Chou’s research focuses on addressing current challenges in drug delivery and tissue engineering using these multi-functional biomaterials. He has authored/coauthored in 24 Journal articles and 4 Conference Proceedings in the field of mechanical properties, drug release, and cell culture using biomaterials. Danko Ćorić, PhD

Danko Ćorić was born on 20 May 1966. in Zagreb where he completed primary and secondaryschooling at the Matematičko-informatički obrazovni centar. He graduated in 1992. at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb. After graduating, he was employed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, at the Department of Materials. Danko Ćorić acquired the Master's degree in 1996 and the title of Doctor of Sciences in 2001. He has been actively involve in research work within several scientific projects what resulted with publishing more than 60 original scientific works in journals and proceedings. Danko Ćorić is the author of two coursebooks. For the needs of industry he carried out more than 80 expertises. He is a member of the Croatian Society of Materials and Tribology, Croatian Metrology Society and Croatian Society for Ceramic Materials.He uses English. He is married and has one child.

Joaquin Ortega-Casanova, PhD

Associate Professor Department of Mechanical, Thermal and Fluid Engineering School of Industrial Engineering University of Malaga, Malaga, Spain
Joaquin Ortega Casanova studied Industrial Engineer at the University of Malaga, forming part of the first group of students of the former School of Industrial Engineering (1990-1995). After that, he was an FPI fellow associated with a National Plan Project (1996-1999) and defended the Thesis in the field of Fluid Mechanics at the University of Malaga in 2000. He was Assistant Professor from 1999 to 2003, and Associate Professor since 2003. He is currently Academic Coordinator of the Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering from 2012 at the University of Malaga. He has completed two pre-doctoral stays at the Arizona State University (Az, USA), and several post-docs at the University of Greenwich (London, UK) and the University of Porto (Porto, Portugal).

He is the author of multiple articles published in journals indexed in the JCR as well as talks in international conferences. He has also participated in various research projects funded by the public administration, both regional and national, as well as in various European projects. He has been part of the Technical Committee of various congresses (HEFAT2012, HEFAT2015, ICCME-2015, AR4MET'2015, and HEFAT2016). He is a regular reviewer for multiple international journals.
His research activity has focused mainly on the modeling and simulation of fluid motion with application in problems of aerodynamics, microfluidics (such as micromixers or microreactors), fluid-structure interaction and heat transfer, among others

Dr. P Vamsi Krishna obtained his PhD from Andhra University, India in 2009 by working in the areas of manufacturing. He has joined NIT Warangal in 2014 and continued to work in the areas of manufacturing and precision engineering. There is an active research group of several PhD scholars under him and also worked on four funded projects. Till date, he has teaching and research experience of about 16 years. Farid Abed-Meraim received his Ph.D. degree in theoretical and applied mechanics from École Polytechnique, Paris, in 1999. From 1999 to 2000, he held a Postdoctoral position at the LMT laboratory, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan. He then joined Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Metz Campus, in 2000, where he works currently as a Professor at the LEM3 laboratory. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a CNRS full-time Research Associate at the LaMCoS laboratory of INSA, Lyon. He also was a Visiting Professor at Eindhoven Technical University (Department of Mechanical Engineering) from 2010 to 2011. His main current research interests include structural stability (bifurcation) analysis of dissipative systems (elastoplastic, viscoelastic, and viscoplastic), material instability modeling in relation to the prediction of formability of metal sheets, and multiscale approaches (micromechanics, crystal plasticity, scale-transition schemes) as well as finite element technology (solid-shell formulations).

Dr.D. Arivuoli obtained PhD from Anna University in 1988. He is the Professor in Crystal Growth Centre, UGC National facility for Crystal Growth, Anna University. He has 29 years of teaching and 36 years of research experience. He is a Fellow and Charted Chemist of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. He has published more than 148 papers in the internationally reputed journals His field of research is nanomechanics and nanomaterials, epitaxy of semiconductors and crystal growth and characterization, He was nominated as member of many expert committees at state / national level, which includes, member of the Tamilnadu state four member panel for Kudamkulam Nuclear reactor project, 2012 and as member of various UGC expert committees for UPE and CPE. He is a member of many professional bodies at the national/International level. He has completed research projects to a tune of ten crores including a 2.33 crores DOE project on LEDs. So far 26 students have completed PhD under his supervision and his work on nanomechanics is referred to as ‘Arivuoli model ‘in literature. He is a member of the Board of studies in many private/ deemed/ state universities in the field of Nanoscience and technology. He has authored three international books series. He is the editor/ editorial board member/ reviewer for various high impact factor journals. He has organized 24 state /national/international level workshops on Nanoscience and technology. He was awarded the distinguished researcher award by Anna University, Eminent scientist award by Madurai Kamaraj University, Lifetime achievement award by AMET University and Venus International foundation and prestigious commonwealth Fellowship, Euro4India Researcher fellowship.

Dr. Sharma has had 30 years of career to date. Started as graduate engineer trainee with TELCO (PUNE) (now TATA MOTORS INDIA) during 1980-82, and later went on to do Ph.D. in management at I.I.M., Ahmedabad, INDIA. After Ph. D. in management, he worked with TVS Suzuki (for 9 months) as executive assistant to GM (marketing). Now he has 26 years of teaching and research experience at the department of Industrial and Management Engineering, I.I.T., Kanpur, 208 016 INDIA. He has taught over 22 different courses in management at IIT Kanpur INDIA (to B. Tech., M. Tech. and M.B.A. students) and is well versed with all the facets of management and has unique ability to integrate different areas of the subject. To date he has written over 644 (grand total) publications (225 Full-Length Papers and 419 Extended Abstracts Outlining Theoretical Framework) in international/national journals and eight research monographs). Total No Of Articles unpublished and published: 800. (Total number of papers in Information Technology/Systems: 126). He has developed over 8 software products. Till date, he has guided 60 M TECH and 18 Ph D theses at IIT Kanpur. He has been Sanjay Mittal Chair Professor at IIT KANPUR (15.09.2015 to 14.09.2018).

Mario Luigi Ferrari, PhD

Associate Professor of Energy Systems Department of Mechanical Engineering, Energy, Management and Transport (DIME) University of Genoa, Polytechnic School via Montallegro 1, 16145 Genoa – Italy
Mario Luigi Ferrari was born in 1978. He obtained his Degree in Mechanical Engineering with honours at the University of Genoa in 2003. He obtained the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Genoa in 2006. He has worked as an Associate Researcher in the Dipartimento di Macchine, Sistemi Energetici e Trasporti of the University of Genoa, and as a Researcher at Rolls-Royce Fuel Cell Systems Ltd, under the Marie-Curie program. In the 2010-2015 years he was permanent Researcher in the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica, energetica, gestionale e dei trasporti (DIME), where he had studied the transient behaviour of SOFC hybrid cycles and the optimization of smart grids based on both fossil fuel and renewable energy systems (the TPG laboratory of Savona). At the moment, he is Associate Professor in the DIME department of the University of Genoa devoting his activity on advanced energy systems.
He is the scientific coordinator of the Innovative Energy System Laboratory for the Thermochemical Power Group. His research activity is, at the moment, mainly focused on the development of an experimental plant for the study of advanced energy systems with the micro gas turbine in tri‐generative configuration and on the development of a laboratory for experimental analyses on poly‐generation smart grids. Moreover, Mario Luigi Ferrari is involved in research activities related to hybrid systems based on SOFC technology including the following topics: transient analysis, control system development, component testing, emulation of critical phases with experimental rigs.
The research activity has produced more than 60 scientific papers published in International journals, presented at international conferences or inside monographic books. Moreover, he is the author of 2 Italian patents related to his experimental research activity. In 2007 and in 2018 he received the Best Paper Award of the International Gas Turbine Institute The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and in 2015 he received the Best Paper Award of the International Conference on Applied Energy.

He obtained his Ph.D. (Manufacturing area) from Curtin University, Master degree (Mechanical systems, Dynamics and Control) from I.I.T. Kharagpur, and Bachelor degree (Mechanical Engineering) from Institution of Engineers, India.
